Listening to 'The Swan'

The footage for this video was filmed at the wharf in Sutton Courtenay in Oxfordshire, which not only features in this poem (the opening poem of Swans We Cannot See) but also in 'Dear John', a poem which is dedicated to the memory of John Lavery the painter. Lavery stayed here for a while circa 1917 and this part of the river featured in several of his works. It's also where I used to take my son, Rory (the poem's dedicatee), for a walk after a day's work.
